Tactical Focus:
Aim and Accuracy
Can be played indoors or outdoors but a stationary pole is required as the target of which each partner's goal is to hit the pole. |
Using the instep pass kicking motion, each partner tries to hit the pole with their kick. If the kick misses the other partner traps the ball and from that spot and then tries to hit the pole target. |
One point is awarded for a hit target, and the game continues until one player gets ten points. |
If other player hits the pole, intiate the first kick from 10 paces away. |
Set a boundary so that if the ball goes outside the boundary, the player can bring the ball back to the 10 paces spot to restart play. |
Allowing a third player with a predetermined kicking order can spice up the game . |
Players not be allowed to trap the ball in advance of kicking towards the target, yet they must kick the ball on the roll. |
Project a soft ball with an implement (e.g., hockey stick, golf club). |
What happens to accuracy the further you are away from a target? |
The further away from a target, the more difficult it is to hit the target. |
To make it more difficult for the other player, may wish to miss the target so that the other player must kick from a far distance. However, players must be careful to ensure the ball remains in bounds or else the other player can bring the ball to the 10 paces spot to restart play. |

Modify the size of the target |
