Tactical Focus:
Aim and Accuracy
Mark off a square using pylons or lines on a floor
Team A lines up on one end of the square while Team B lines up on the opposite end of the square facing Team B.
Each player is given soft ball (e.g., small gator ball, beanbag, trash ball).
Place a large target ball (e.g., soccer ball, volleyball, utility ball) in the middle of the square
The object is for Team A to try and knock the middle ball across Team B's line by projecting the throwing object at the ball and vice versa.
Only UNDERHAND THROWS are allowed!
Players retrieve the throwing objects from the other team and use them to continue trying to knock the target ball across the other team's line.
If the target ball rolls outside of the square to the side, bring the ball back into the middle of the square and resume play.
Once a team successfull moves the target ball across the other teams line, they score a point and play again by placing the target ball back into the middle of the square.

4 Square: Using 4 teams, each team lines up along one edge of the square and tries to defend their line while trying to knock the ball over any of the other 3 lines in the square.
Play in a rectangle to increase the distance between teams.
Goal Ball: Create a goal at each end and each team must try to knock the target ball into the other team's goal.

What were effective tactical solutions to prevent scoring.
Plan ahead to have a throwing object left at the back in case of "emergency"
Hit the target ball in such a way so that it either moves straight forward or off to the side at an angle
Communicate with teammates.

Use a lighter target ball to decrease the amount of force needed to move the ball
Play seated.
Use an odd shaped object to make it more difficult to move (e.g., box, milk jug, etc).

Life Skills Development
Decision-Making and Critical Thinking Skills

How did your team work together? What made your team successful?

Was it easier when you worked together or as individuals?

How efficient was your team when retrieving balls? Did certain individuals play different roles depending on their skills and what they felt they could contribute to the success of their team?

Preparation Phase: Have a slight forward body lean with head remaining steady and facing forward.

Execution Phase: Use both arms swinging in opposition to create speed (arms move like a choo-choo train, with arms forming an 'L' shape or 90 degree bend).

Follow-Through Phase: Take a long last stride to reduce speed to a stop.
