Bean Bag Boccee

Tactical Focus:
Protect the Object
Two teams of four are created and each player has a beanbag
The court is a rectangle and the dememsions of the rectangle is optional
One team starts off by throwing out the palino (the different coloured beanbag)
This same team then starts off by throwing one of their beanbags (which is designated by a specific colour unique to that team)
The other team then throws one of their beanbags(which is designated by a specific colour unique to that team)
The team who has the beanbag the furthest away continues to throw until they have the closest beanbag
This continues until everyone has thrown their beanbags
Players may knock either the palino or other beanbags with their beanbag throws
All throws must be underhand throws
The team with the closest beanbag scores a point for every beanbag they have closest to the palino
The team who scored in the previous end throws out the palino in the next end
Beanbags that are outside of the rectangle are considered out of bounds.

Wiffle Ball Boccee: Tie elastic bands to wiffle balls and play with wiffle balls instead of beanbags.
Outdoor Adventure Boccee: Using different coloured balls, play outdoors but choose different types of terrain to make it more interesting (e.g., play in the woods, on a bumpy surface, etc).

Can you do anything to try and protect the beanbags that are close to the palino?
Put up "guards" around beanbags that are close to the polino to prevent the other team from knocking your beanbag away.
Place guards in front of the polino to make it difficult for the other team to reach the polino. It also increases the chances that they may knock your beanbag closer as well.

Sitting Boccee: Players remain seated in chairs while playing
Reduce the size of the playing area if necessary
Participants can project beanbags with implements (e.g., scoops, lacrosse sticks, hockey sticks, etc)
