Junk Yard

Tactical Focus:
Aim and Accuracy
Two players face each other approximately 20 paces apart with various obstacles in between them (e.g., pylons, beanbags, milk jugs, etc). This represents the junkyard.
Each player has 3 skittles (e.g., bowling pin, pylon, ball) that are placed on their side.
Each player is also given 1 beanbag which must be thrown underhand and it must remain in contact with the ground while travelling through the junkyard.
The object is to hit the opposing players 3 skittles down while trying to avoid the obstacles in the middle.
Once each player has thrown a beanbag, the opposing player retrieves the other player's beanbag and attempts to hit down a skittle
The player to knock down all three skittles first is declared the winner.

Bounce Junkyard: Players use a ball and try to bounce it over the junkyard to hit the skittles
Replace beanbag with a ball and an implement (e.g., hockey stick, golf club) and participants attempt to knock over skittles while projecting the ball with the implement.
Safety Awareness: Obstacles in the junkyard could represent items that children should avoid (e.g., needles, glass, matches, etc).
Vary the distance of each skittle making some further away and spread them out.

What are effective ways to avoid the obstacles in the junkyard?
