Attack Goal
Set up playing area by dividing the gym into two sides with 6 pylons at each end of the playing field. |
Set up two hoops near the centre line (but near the side) one on each side of the playing area. |
The class is divided up into two teams. One on each side of the playing area. |
The object of the game is to get as many of the opposing team's pylons without getting touched. |
When you obtain a pylon you get a free trip back to your own side. When you capture all of the other teams pylons the game is over. |
If you get touched you have to go to "jail" (where the skittles are set up). |
To get out, one of your teammates must come and tag you without themselves getting touched. |
If they do get touched they have to go into the hoop as well, but if they do not then both people get a free trip back to their own side. |
Make the playing area smaller or larger. |
Make the teams smaller (i.e., have multiple small sided games going on at a time) |
Add or take away pylons to each side. |
Rather than bring back a pylon, have to simply knock it over. Play until all pylons have been knocked over. |
How do you determine when a good time would be in order to try and get one of the other team's pylons? |
Need to look at various options of how many defenders and where they are on the court. |
Communicate with teammates in order to know who is covering what area. |
Simplify by reducing the number of pylons, or decreasing the playing field. |
Can also eliminate the notion of the 'jail' & have the person just go to their own side when touched |
Don't get a free pass back to the other side when you get a pylon or getting out of 'jail'. |
