Tactical Focus:
Defend Space
Each team must defend their treasures, however at the same time they must try to gain more treasures without getting caught by opposing team |
The team must have people guarding their treasures. If a person gets caught by another pirate he or she must go to "jail" and can only be freed by a fellow pirate and come back to home base. |
Everyone must stay in the boundaries marked by the pylons, each team has two of their own treasure chests (which are spread out). |
Once one team has aquired at least 15 "treasures" (bean bags) from the other team, they have won. However in order to win they cannot have any teammates in jail. |
Everyone must work together as a team to obtain bean bags, get fellow competitors out of jail and also guard their territory |
Once a beanbag is taken from the opposing teams chest, they get a "free ride" to put the treasure in their own base. Therefore they cannot get touched and put in jail on the way back |
Each team also has a "stolen chest" where they put the bean bags they have taken already, which cannot be touched once they are in the hoop. |
Let the teams steal back their own beanbags as well and try to hold on to their own |
Break down the two large groups in to smaller ones, therefore have them stealing from many other territories, not just one |
What are effective ways to defend space in order to prevent the other team from stealing the beanbags? |
Each team must work together, so their area of territory is not left unattended |
Make sure that students are communicating with each other. |
Instead of having beanbags in hoops, each player could carry a beanbag or a scarf with them |
If a person gets caught then he or she goes to jail, and the opponents gets to carry two treasures (which could be flags) for the team |
