This player passes the ball back and if it is caught, the parnter who caught the ball takes a step back.
Process continues until someone drops the ball.
When ball is dropped, the two players return to the starting position and see if they can improve on their previous best.
Use fun equipment (e.g. water balloon, sponge).
Add another ball.
Only use one-hand to throw and catch.
Modify the type of throw (e.g. underhand, overhand, bounce, baseball).
Catch the ball with a blanket or a basket.
Add a person in the middle who relays the ball to the partners at the end.
Shapes: Add a third or fourth player to create different shapes (e.g., create a bigger triangle, square, etc. )
What type of throws are easiest to catch?
Throws that are lobbed high in the air to give teammate time to catch it.
Throws that are thrown hard are less acurate and more difficult for a teammate to catch.
Use textured balls, balls that beep or yarn balls.
Use Velcro mitts and balls.
Modify the direction players’ travel. Players can step sideways in the same direction.
Players can roll the ball to each other and stop the rolling ball with their foot. Then players take a step back.
Tie a scarf to the ball to make it easier to catch.
Use implements to catch (e.g., lacrosse stick, scoop).

Preparation Phase: Stand sideways with non-throwing shoulder facing partner, weight balanced on both weight (pretend you are surfing on the water).
Execution Phase: Make J shape with throwing arm(pretend you are high-fiving a friend).
Follow-Through Phase: Continue the high five through to the non-dominant knee (bending at the hip and rotating arm across body, drawing a diagonal line with arm)
