Electric Chicken

Tactical Focus:
Protect the Object
Once your two teams are divided equally sitting holding hands back to back in two lines the game can begin.
The electric shock starts with the roll of a dice. When the number agreed upon by the teacher and the first student in each row appears. The shock is spread by squeezing hands.
As the shock progresses down the line and reaches the last student the final student must perform some task before racing to the front of the line.
The task can be as simple as jumping jacks or running a complex relay, searching for an object, drawing a picture etc.
Students can also be asked to work with their partner to complete a task before returning to the front of the line. Points can be awarded for team work.
Once the task is completed the student runs to the front of the line where the electric shock is sent again. Through an agreed upon number on the dice.
The game is not complete until every player has completed the task and the teams are sitting in their original order.
Be sure to make the task age appropriate and not too complicated to keep the students interested and active.

Students must complete the game without talking to promote non-verbal forms of communication.

The teacher should consider team dynamics and awareness of partnerships and touching in this game. Be sure that team work is rewarded and that no one is left behind.

Can be a physical task or related to what is being learned in class. The more challenging and team oriented the task the better.
