Tactical Focus:
Placement away from fielders
Three hoops of different colours are spread out in the fielding area. Two pylons are placed next to 'batting' area for batter to make runs. |
Batter uses hockey stick to send three beannags (each one matching the colours of the hoops) out into the field. Batter then makes runs between the pylons. |
Fielders cannot start collecting until last beanbag has been sent. They then collect a beanbag each and put the correct colour beanbag in the same colour hoop. |
Once each beanbag is collected the batter stops running at the nearest pylon. Players rotate positions, each time attempting to beat their previous score. |
Increase the number of beanbags to be collected. |
Use a bat, balls and a tee as an alternative. |
Change the form of locomotion used to get between the two pylons (e.g. skipping, hopping). |
With limited space in this game, how can you make the fielders take longer to collect the beanbags? |
Fielders, how can you use you each other effectively to limit the time it takes to collect the beanbags? |
Use a different implement or underhand throw to send the beanbags away. |
Reduce the distance of the bases. |
