Tactical Focus:
Placement away from fielders
Pylons create a narrow 'alley' with four pylons on each side in line with each other creating lines of scoring across alley. |
The batter stands at one end of the alley with fielders covering space inside the alley. One fielder is a pitcher. |
Ball is pitched and the batter tries to hit the ball with a cricket bat down the alley to score points. The further the ball goes the more points are scored (first pylons=1 point, second=2 points, etc). |
The batter gets six good pitches to get as many points as they can before players rotate. |
Depending on tactical focus, you can change the field size. For exaggeration of width in covering/finding space, make the field wider and more shallow. |
Create a no-go zone that is difficult to hit. Batter can attempt to hit this shot for extra points. |
Fielders, how can you stop the batter from scoring points? |
Batters, if the fielders are covering the near space, how can you reach the far space at the back? |
Batters, how can you vary your use of shots to get more points? |
Make alley to suit players. Can make more narrow if needed. |
Scoops or gloves can be used to collect ball. |
